Advanced Explosive Demolition

As an EOD Tech I've always admired how Advanced Explosive Demolition implodes buildings. I've done plenty of demo and AED makes it art. Now I have the great fortune of working with Eric Kelly, a blaster with 30 years experience, to include the Kodak Building 23 implosion which you can view below.

Eric made his reputation as a young blaster doing the "high and hazardous" jobs that everyone said couldn't be done.

Building 23 Implosion, Kodak Corp. Rochester, NY

Ellsworth AFB Smokestack Demolition

As the brains behind Advanced Explosive Demolition Eric has imploded buildings all over the world. This week I've been working in Chattanooga, TN bringing down the US Pipe facility. The US Pipe building has been a huge landmark and somewhat of an eye sore for those driving through on I-24.

As part of the crew, I've also been able to work with Eric's son, Alfred who is 21 years old and brings 7 years experience to the site. Eric's wife Lisa has run many successful businesses throughout her career and is responsible for the day to day business end of the company allowing Eric to focus on the technical details of every project.

Steve, aka "Little Steve" is a torch wielding cutter that would give the best Jedi a run for his money. His patience and attention to detail are reassuring when you're walking around a steel structure that has been cut into pieces and is still standing.

Eric's accomplishments include bringing down the world's largest building, the most buildings at one time and brought down buildings while not damaging the basements.

If you're interested in seeing some of Eric's and AED's work, be sure to visit their web site or contact AED for a free video of some of the best implosions available.
