James Corder, MPA

WORK HISTORY

James Corder, while a student at the University of Memphis, worked part-time with Legion Protective Services as a security guard. Assigned to work at various night clubs around Memphis to ensure order inside and outside the establishment premises. Used negotiation skills rather than physical force to diffuse most hostile situations. Assigned for a brief period to work executive protection in the home of local Memphis entertainment celebrity. Upon moving back to Nashville, began working for George H. Currey and Associates providing protective services for clients in and around Nashville.

• Attended the University of Memphis on a football scholarship. Was part of a football program that was the most successful in the school’s history, with two back to back bowl appearances in 2003 and 2004.

• Completed degree requirements in 3 ½ years, with cumulative GPA of 2.95.

• Obtained and served an internship with the Memphis Police Department, Homicide Division, in spring semester of 2004.
